Designed by the world famous yacht designer, Julian Bethwaite, the 29er is a training boat for youth interested in sailing the 49er, an Olympic class boat. Currently the 29er is sailed all over the world. Like the boat, the sailors represent a new age, fun and youth.” (Quoted from the official program) 29er European Championships have 163 boats from countries all over the world. Sailors from Australia, Austria, Brazil, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Italy, Netherland, Norway, Poland, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the USA are competing.
